Trellis Home Hits High Point
We just got back from our first High Point and it was such a great, energizing experience! We were able to connect with old friends, check in with some of our current wonderful partners as well as meet some new, fab folks who design some great pieces that you will be seeing on Trellis Home soon!
Our trip started out perfectly as we made a beeline for Taylor Burke Home. Started by two sisters Julianne Taylor and Lauren Burke, these two dynamos have quickly made a name for themselves with a contemporary twist on classic design.
We adored their fabric topped coffee tables and amazing side tables.
Sharing a space with Taylor Burke Home was the lovely and inspirational Mary Catherine Folmar from Birmingham, AL who was showcasing her fabric line Cotton and Quill.
The whimsical style of Stray Dog Designs is always fun to see. We loved their minimal pink mirror and console and, natch, the elephant bookends.
We were lucky enough to meet up with old friend and interior designer Cathy Austin from Bespoke Banter in Charlotte, NC for a quick chat. She could not have picked more spectacular surroundings as we met up at Currey & Co. where we encountered this fabulous vignette.
And while we are showing some of the most colorful highlights – one of the biggest trendlines we could see at High Point was emerald, emerald EVERYWHERE. This vibrant green was Pantone’s color of the year for 2013 and boy, could you tell. We saw brilliant flashes of it everywhere, most notably in gorgeous lacquer pieces at Worlds Away.
Bottom line, just exploring and getting a little bit lost at High Point (which is easy to do, especially for newbies like us!) is part of the fun. Walking around the Antiques and Design Center was a joy. We adored the sumptuous booth of The Pink Door of Greensboro, NC. The taste and style of the Lavinder father and son run business was just a wonderful example of the gems of High Point. In all – what a great trip!
