We can barely contain our excitement….the Trellis Home Pop Up Shop & Design Bar is finally opening THIS Saturday, May 19!  As an extension of our Trellis Design Showroom, we will now offer our colorful, curated vignettes in a retail space downstairs – carefully collected, styled, and ready for you to shop!  We are always on the hunt for unique home decor, furniture, and lighting, whether it’s current or vintage – and we are excited to bring these finds to you into a new retail setting! Not only will we offer a curated selection of Home Decor, Art, Furniture, and Lighting, but we will also feature a “Design Bar” where you can choose certain pieces of upholstery and lacquered furniture that we carry (Society Social and Dunes & Duchess, for example) and “Make It Your Own” by customizing them in an array of fabrics and paint colors to create a piece that is uniquely yours! (Navy chair with hot pink piping?  No problem! Lacquered Coral Light fixture? Check!) Master Bedroom by Trellis Home in the Feb/March issue of Traditional Home Magazine!

What a thrill to have had the opportunity to design the Master Bedroom at the Christopher Kennedy Compound Modernism Show House in Palm Springs last February, and even MORE thrilling to see it in print in this month’s Feb/March issue of Traditional Home magazine!  It was an incredible experience to be included among so many talented tastemakers and to partner with some amazing companies to make our vision come true for the Master Bedroom of “Villa Golightly”, the home of lifestyle blogger Kelly Lee (aka @kellygolightly) and photographer Klaus Moser.   Our main inspiration began with the vibrant Florence Broadhurst “Cockatoo” pattern which we had custom printed as wallpaper and fabric, and then layered in some amazing pieces from the Florence Broadhurst collection by Selamat Designs. The drapery and matching bed canopy were custom designed to mimic the vibe of the pool canopies at the iconic Viceroy Hotel, which seemed fitting as the bedroom also had a lovely picture window looking out towards the pool and patio. Pretty shades of teal and a soft soothing shade of blue on the ceiling (“Morning Calm” by Dunn Edwards) were chosen as accents to the creamy white walls (“Whisper” by Dunn Edwards).  The carpet […] View full article →

Summertime Finds from Trellis Home

After a looooong, cold winter and Spring here in New England, we are ready for some Rose and sunshine! A few hot days is all we needed to start getting our home ready for Summer. We saw some amazing new outdoor furniture collections in High Point this past month, and have also scouted some fantastic art and lighting to brighten your home with, as well. (image by Slim Aarons) Our first new intro this season is an artist that we are thrilled to be carrying, Susan O’Donnell of Nantucket Gyotaku. She uses the ancient Japenese process of printing with real fish on linen. The best part is that each piece can be customized- pick your color linen, the size of the piece, the color of the fish, and the composition to make each piece your own. Her pieces are the perfect accent in coastal homes because they add color with sophistication, and the compositions make them unique. FloBro Show House Get the Look

We had a delightful time in Palm Springs this February designing the bedroom of Kelly Lee (aka “Kelly Golightly”) and Fred Moser at the Christopher Kennedy Compound Modernism week Show House.  We were inspired by all of the incredible tastemakers this year who all turned out STUNNING rooms. For the Master Bedroom we designed this year, we were fortunate enough to partner with the absolutely fabulous Bay Area furniture company, Selamat Designs.  One of their newest and most exciting lines is their collaboration with the Florence Broadhurst Estate – bringing to life the essence of the inimitable Australian design maven melded with distinctive, classic Selamat authenticity. Palm Springs Redux: Modernism week here we come!

Check our pulse! We are SO absolutely thrilled to have been chosen to be a part of The Christopher Kennedy Compound Modernism Week Show House for a second year in a row – and this time to do the master bedroom no less! The Christopher Kennedy Compound: Modernism Week Show House is the only decorator showcase house in Palm Springs and has been named the “#1 Must-See Event of Modernism Week” by The Hollywood Reporter. Each year, Christopher re-imagines a classic Palm Springs property, using the best of modern of technology and bringing together about 20 of the country’s most prominent design talents. The Christopher Kennedy Compound is published in Traditional Home and California Homes magazines, and raises approximately $100,000 for architectural preservation, education, and neighborhoods in Palm Springs. Last year, we were lucky enough to design the Teen Bath which directly adjoined the Teen Bedroom designed by Carson Kressley – it was a wonderful experience filled with fun, excitement and lots of laughs with an amazing group of Tastemakers! From High Point to your Home

We think it’s time to talk about something beautiful after all of the back and forth of the last week – sooooo, let’s talk about our trip to High Point! Our heads are spinning with all of the fabulous new introductions and incredible products we saw.  We are sharing some of our fave finds.  Let us know what you like! Modernism Wow! Flashing back to the Christopher Kennedy Compound Modernism Week Showhouse

Spring is struggling to make its way to the East Coast as the daffodills try to peek through random snow squalls, so we are flashing back to a Friday back in February when we were in warmer, fashionable climate, setting up for our teen bath at the Christopher Kennedy Modernism Week Showhouse in sunny Palm Springs, CA.   This was the view from our room at the Saguaro Hotel.  sigh. Well, we just loved our time there and we were SO honored to be a part of it all.  Here is a little virtual tour of the insanely great rooms by all of the fantastic designers that were part of the showhouse.  They all knocked it out of the park with not only great design, but it all seemed to flow together beautifully – probably since we all had modernism as our guiding principle.  The group of designers was not only incredibly talented, but a whole lotta fun, and we have to say, we shared a lot of laughs along with our long hours. We are packing our bags and getting ready for our big trip out to Palm Springs in less than two weeks!!  We are so thrilled and honored to have been asked to design the teen bath for the The Christopher Kennedy Compound: Modernism Week Show House 2016. Named by The Hollywood Reporter as the “#1 Must-See Event of Modernism Week!” Traditional Home and California Homes magazines are sponsoring the The Christopher Kennedy Compound: Modernism Week Show House 2016.  For the third year, Christopher has brought together ten of the nations most prominent tastemakers to create unique rooms in this showcase house, spectacularly sited on the fairway of the Indian Canyons Golf Resort, a favorite of Hollywood stars like Frank Sinatra, Walt Disney and Bob Hope.
