From High Point to your Home
We think it’s time to talk about something beautiful after all of the back and forth of the last week – sooooo, let’s talk about our trip to High Point! Our heads are spinning with all of the fabulous new introductions and incredible products we saw. We are sharing some of our fave finds. Let us know what you like! We can work with you to bring these fabulous pieces into your own home as well as many of the other offerings from these great resources.
In the spirit of coming together, check out some of the fab collaborations we saw – when the right folks come together, lightening strikes and great things happen. From Justina Blakeney and Selamat, to Michelle Workman and Pyar & Co, to Cotton and Quill and Travertine Home we saw some great partnerships blooming.
SELAMAT + JUSTINA BLAKENEY and FLORENCE BROADHURST
Selamat is always a favorite stop for us at High Point. This market they launched their collaboration with Justina Blakeney, which was Jungalow chic! We just wanted to curl up in this amazing tent and stay forever. sigh, so much fabulousness in one place!
Also a favorite with Selamat is the Florence Broadhurst collection. We snatched up this incredible Jade raffia and wood credenza with Kabuki inspired hardware for the showroom – Swoon!! In fact, we have a LOT of Florence Broadhurst goodies heading our way – stay tuned for more info on this TO DIE FOR collection, which includes furniture, home accessories, mirrors, and art, all inspired by Florence Broadhurst’s groovy yet sophisticated patterns from the 60’s!
JULIANNE TAYLOR WITH MITCHELL BLACK WALLPAPER COLLECTION
Wallpaper is making a big comeback, and there are so many great choices out there, but THIS collection just might take the cake! Designs inspired by Julianne Taylor’s (founder of Taylor Burke Home) time abroad living in Asia, the colors and patterns in this collection are fun, bold, and charming. Come visit the Hingham showroom to see this fabulous book of patterns for yourself, or email us to see samples – they are truly amazing! We couldn’t pick just one favorite, but here is a snapshot:
COTTON AND QUILL AND TRAVERTINE HOME COLLABORATION
When we heard that some of our favorite design pals were working together, we truly could not WAIT to see what they created – and Blair and Kristen from Travertine Design and Mary Catherine from Cotton + Quill have pulled off some pretty stunning looks! We got a sneak peek at the upcoming Travertine upholstery collection at the most fun designer dinner when we were at High Point. My what they have done. We were swooning over the lucite and upholstery bench covered in Cotton + Quill’s tortoiseshell fabric, and those “Casablanca” swivel chairs with performance velvet backed by C+Q’s magnolia print. LOVE it all. The Travertine gals are moms like us and they know how life can get in the way of fancy upholstery, not only are their pieces available in fabulous Cotton + Quill fabrics, but they also have a whole line of performance fabrics available or COM as well. We loved it all!!
Not only did Travertine have fun new stuff to show off, Mary Catherine Folmar debuted Cotton + Quill’s new equestrian inspired collection entitled The Hunt. It has the same elegance and whimsy that we love from her, but we can see some of the fabrics gracing a men’s study or country house. We will have the new fabrics in the showroom soon – can’t wait to find the right project!
PYAR + CO TRIM COLLECTION BY MICHELLE WORKMAN
Paula Queen, our dear friend and aptly named design sovereign behind accessories company Pyar + Co has teamed up with the inimitable Michelle Workman to create a lush, feminine, and fresh trim collection. Named “The Queen’s Conquest”, we are transported back to times of ruffle collars and beaded bodices all reinterpreted in a contemporary and groundbreaking way. Truly inspiring!
HIGHLAND HOUSE + BUNGALOW CLASSICS COLLECTION
Highland House has been a standout over the last few markets with collaborations with designers like Barrie Benson and Barclay Butera. Their beautiful showroom at High Point continued to impress with the clean and classic, yet modern silhouettes in the assortment – their collaboration with Bungalow Classics Collection by Mr. & Mrs. B is just a stunner. We love the lines of these pieces – fresh, yet somehow a throwback to sumptuous interiors in the 40s, but with a contemporary feel. The “Courtney” bed was a jaw dropper. A bed fit for Auntie Mame, our style inspiration!
As we talked about above with the new Pyar + Co collection, trims are a big thing this year. The bigger the better. We are loving the throwback tassel fringe on this sofa.
Not only do we love the lines of the Highland House furniture, but their use of fabrics has impressed us each time we visit. The Stella fabric by Tulu textiles on those chairs is a favorite of ours, and the floral on the daybed feels nostalgic for summer days in Maine, reading a book. Again, there is something both invigorating yet familiar in their sense of style at Highland House.
We had such a productive trip to market this Fall and we are excited to bring what we found into our Hingham showroom and into your home! So if you are looking for upholstery pieces for your home, be sure to visit us in Hingham or call/email us and we will be happy to show you more fabulous pieces from this line.
If you don’t already do so, please follow us on Instagram, we will be posting all of our new arrivals as we start to get in some of these exciting new products.
Now on to the holidays….if you can believe it?!
